WHILE many of its competitorshave made high profile plays for dominant market share in buildings and marts terminals by buying up their rivals,Take-one media has been fly-ing under the radar and steadily gaining a foothold in this industry.
One of Take-one Media’s founders is CaiXiaoyang,former vice president of Target Media.
Cai is one of the first outdoor media professional managers in China.He used to lead a sales team in Target Media that rivaled Focus Media.
During this time Target Media was purchased by Focus Media for 2.339 billion yuan (US$ 325 million)before it was listed on the stock market.
“Professional managers can’t have things done their own way sometimes,not to mention getting few stock shares after the company was listed,”said Cai,who left Target Media after it was sold.

During frequent travels abroad,Cai noticed an information stand in hotels,displaying different kind of travel information and advertisements that was convenient and accessible to travelers.
“There is a namesake of Take-one Media in Britain that offers this kind of service, which is very popular abroad but novel in China.”he said.
Cai said he considered it a great opportunity to start his own business in this market.
He collaborated with Chen Lixuan and established Take-one Media in September 2006.
Take-one Media has these type of disolay information stand,with advertising boards,in high-end residences across China.Chen later became the chief executive officer of Take-one Media.
Take-one Media’s novel approach,compared to its competitors,has allowed it to attract venture capital and dominate the information stand industry.Last year it gained 70percent of market share in the information stand services industy.
Its information stands are now in 2,000 high-end and 12,000 middle-level residences in central business areas in nine cities including Beijing,Shanghai,Guangzhou,Shenzhen and Hanghzhou.
It Janurary,2007 Take-one Media gainse its first venture capital from DingHui,and will get its second fund from IDG by the end this month.
The company plans to get a third fund on board by the middle of this year.
“Take-one Media will expand its business to 30 cities at the end of March this year,”Cai said.
